EDUCATIONAL AIMS

  • This course aims to develop skills and knowledge in the field of interventional bronchoscopy.

  • During this course, bronchoscopists already basically trained will be provided with theoretical background, hands-on training and practical guidance for understanding indications and contraindications of bronchoscopic techniques and for implementing them in their daily practice. 

TARGET AUDIENCE

  • Pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons and critical care specialists already familiar with basic bronchoscopic techniques
  • Pulmonary medicine fellows who wish to specialise in interventional bronchoscopy  

COURSE GOALS

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Recognise indications and contraindications of major bronchoscopic modalities
  • Perform TBNA in major lymph node stations
  • Have knowledge of electrocautery and cryotherapy for endobronchial treatment or biopsies
  • Be familiar with rigid bronchoscopy debulking techniques and stent placement
  • Understand and practice with navigation technologies such as EBUS and electromagnetic navigation
