EDUCATIONAL AIMS

This course aims to develop skills and knowledge in the field of interventional bronchoscopy.
During this course, bronchoscopists already basically trained will be provided with theoretical background, hands-on training and practical guidance for understanding indications and contraindications of bronchoscopic techniques and for implementing them in their daily practice.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons and critical care specialists already familiar with basic bronchoscopic techniques
Pulmonary medicine fellows who wish to specialise in interventional bronchoscopy

COURSE GOALS

By the end of the course, participants will:

Recognise indications and contraindications of major bronchoscopic modalities
Perform TBNA in major lymph node stations
Have knowledge of electrocautery and cryotherapy for endobronchial treatment or biopsies
Be familiar with rigid bronchoscopy debulking techniques and stent placement
Understand and practice with navigation technologies such as EBUS and electromagnetic navigation
